>>1657075I don't know about doing it Winter yet, but thanks to one of these threads a few months ago I started cold cooking during a two week camp.
Sometimes I used my little Vargo titanium wood stove, but very often simply cold cooked whole wheat noodles. It sucked in terms of pure enjoyment of eating in the conventional sense, but I greatly appreciated the removal of time and effort from the daily task load.
In a deeper sense it was still profoundly enjoyable in a new array of ways. I don't know how to describe it, but I thought of /out/ and that thread each time. It lent to interesting contemplations I wouldn't have otherwise had.
Anyway, I assume you created that thread as well, and I very much appreciate it having caused me to become aware of this new (to me) dynamic. /out/ is a legit place of learning in addition to all of the retardation and faggotry.
Oh, I also started carrying a small supply of noodles in my Osprey pack top day hike bag to cold cook in the little Bear Grylls canteen cooker when doing relatively short, lightly outfitted hikes from camp. It was far preferable to having to go through a big ordeal for a small meal.
I need to acquire something I can securely enclose for cold cooking while on the move.
