Anybody make their own dehydrated meals for backpacking? I’m thinking of making my own, the store bought meals are fucking expensive. I already have a dehydrator. I’d like to make my own pasta. Suggestions? Recipes?

i like making jerky, and sometimes dried fruits, apples and such

You're going to have to work pretty hard to beat whatever dried pasta is on sale for $1/pound. You can make it slightly cheaper but it won't be any better, and if you don't already have a roller you'll have to pay for that as well. Hand rolling is a bitch.

both are good and have very little cleanup. i'd rather eat real than fake dried shit.

I did chicken noodle soup recently, dehydrated carrots, onions and chicken, added 2 bullion cubes, was delicious. Gonna try dehydrating a thick chili next.

I have a 1 litre pot and find it absolutely perfect for my needs. Definitely wouldn't want to go smaller, but I know a lot of people have ~650ml and make it work. 500ml is a bloody cup, no idea how you'd cook in it.
