I didn't use heat once last winter and I live in New York. Granted my apartment faces south so I'd get the sun in the daytime, but it still got pretty cold. You know you're a man when you can see your breath inside. At the time I could have easily afforded to, I was just like fuck it, I like the cold, I haven't turned it on yet and we're well into December lets see if I can make it. I'll admit I did kick it on before I got in a shower sometimes but I'd turn it right off after I sat down. Never showed up on the bill lel. The biggest problem I had was overshooting the clothing/blankets. I'd put on a longsleeve shirt because I was cold, then I would start to sweat so I'd take it off, but then the shortsleeve would be too cold. Same thing with the blankets, I'd go to bed with two because I'd be cold as fuck when I was about to go to bed since I sleep naked, then I'd be about to fall asleep and it'd be too hot so I'd throw one off. You eventually work out the right pattern but it was kinda annoying. I figured out the best thing to do was just to do some pushups and shit with no shirt so there would be no sweat but you'd get a little heat going. It will get COLD sometimes though and your subconscious will direct you to looking at personal fireplaces you can buy and reading about different methods of heating homes around the world and shit though haha.
Haven't used any AC this summer either, this time because I can't afford it, and holy fuck has it sucked, it's a cloudy day and it's 90F inside right now and I don't even feel hot. Just like the cold, you get used to it.
Where do you live? If it's somewhere far north I don't think this is a wise decision.
