Bowline, clove hitch, round turn and 2 half hitches, tautline hitch, figure 8, figure 8 loop, square knot, sheet bend, anchor bend, fisherman's/double fisherman's knot, wagoneer's hitch, lanyard (diamond) knot, cleat hitch

The most useless knot I know is the sheepshank.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. A lanyard knot is basically a carrick bend turned inside out, you can't tie one without tying the other one first.

im thinking the slippery noose for anchor is way to much, and i only wrap it like twice

what do you use for your anchor point? even met some people whop just go wrap the rope around a tree and peg it to the ground at 90 degrees, no knots.
thought?

Also, can someone versed in topology clarify whether or not all knots are reducible to the overhand knot? Eg a square knot is just two overhand knots, a figure eight knot is just an overhand knot tied with a bight then traced back through..

FG is a poser knot that 90% of people tie into a fuck-ugly abortion and 10% of people tie nicely just to prove they can. In reality the Alberto knot is a perfectly good bend that covers 100% of your line joining needs. Hell, a uni to uni knot will do it nine times out of ten.

not shure if this one has a english name or not, its called something like double bait knot here. the only one you need for fishing if you ask me, on some really small fly's when i fish with them i might make it a single, then i actually cant run the line through the hook two times.
