I've had one of these for years. If you get over the slight scratchyness (maybe some laundry products soften that iunno) it's comfy as fuck.

I also got a bluey jacket from an opshop for 5 bucks, warmest coat I own.

Some wool is so fucking stiff it will chafe wounds right into your skin like a pot scrubber. Getting that type is pretty rare now, but in the 80s....fuuuuck. The whole merino wool thing has been amazing. Even the fake merino wool isn't even remotely like that. You'd need to get floor sweepings from a Chinese factory for making Hazard Fright shop blankets before you could get itchy stuff now. I think the sheep breeds that had those thicker rougher fibers have been bred into extinction.

I'm from the Baltic states, I think prices are more or less like that in all ex-soviet countries.

Blend. I got um at rei. They always have good socks on sale. I use then at work and they've held up great. I work on a boat so they're usually soaked in salt water for very long hours. Super comfy and no issues with losing shape or thinning out
