>>1663581I'm from Alberta. Banff is the biggest /out/ tourist trap of them all. Winter is better but still crowded as fuck. One of the main problems I have with banff is actually the Australian assholes who come out there to do tourist work. It is beautiful out there though. And going to the hot springs on a snowy day and looking out at the mountain on the other side is pretty cool. Gondola and walk on the top of the mountain is pretty cool on a clear day as well. And there's a tea house at the end of the boardwalk up there. Lots international visitors there and especially more chinese in recent years. STD capital of Canada as well so be safe. It's not hard to find like minded outdoorsy people there, especially if you go to one of the hostels or something
