>>1665638The bad new is, there's not a lot immediately in ABQ. The good news is, you're not far from some good /out/ adventures. In northern New Mexico, check out Carson national forest, especially near Taos. You're also incredibly close to the Jemez mountains, which have some good places for camping. Also check out Valles Caldera, which is shown in the attached picture.
You're also within a day's drive of all the parks in the four corners area - grand canyon, zion, etc. Also you're about the same distance from the Sonoran desert, and from Denver, Colorado. You can take some time off and visit those.
Heading down south, you can visit the chihuahua desert, including Carlsbad and White Sands national parks.
There's a lot of great stuff in the area. You'll just have to drive a little to get there.
