i'm comfortable improvising a dressing. or splint, sling, tourniquet, or whatever else i'd need. and if the injury's outside of what i can improvise they're going to die of it before getting to definitive care no matter what i carry.
but really, as big an advantage as my training is, most of the shit i use i won't have no matter what, so my experience is just as important, if not more so, because i've have been in emergency situations before, know i won't freeze or panic, and know how to focus and address the situation at hand.
