regular slingshots (shepherd's sling) are fun to play with, but to unprecise to use for anything other than group or vehicle targets.

You need to use the "japanese" style of shooting (turning the bow outwards while firing) for this though, otherwise you might hit your bow or hand. It's more common with crossbows.
