Yeah, if you do it "for sport."
Fishing, and someday hunting, feeds my family. Camping and hiking are religious retreats. Gardening and woodworking provide needed resources to my parish.
Maybe for you, it can be a means to play as someone you wish to be. I, on another hand, am garbage at living in the postmodern world. /out/ is how I make my best contributions to society.

You can live in the world without being of it. Get what you need (land, transport, people) then fuck right off.
Find honest work, and pay off everything. Learn to fix anything so you never borrow another dime. Serve God, instead of pursuing petty concerns. Teach your children how to LIVE.
It's not much harder than the maze you're stuck in, once you get going. You just have to get going first.

It's too expensive to live rurally, so I stay near the edge of town.
Having neighbors behind the house means I can't just go outside and shoot every night. Maybe I'll build a backstop into the garage, but I think even that would get the cops called.
And I've grown 14 years. Don't even know my new draw length.
