>jacket and snowpantsGo to a ski shop or REI or outdoor gear store and try some on. As long as it fits well and is Gore-Tex you should be good. Thigh vent zippers on snowpants are very nice because they let you ride in a wide range of temperatures with the same pants.
For jacket, I personally like wearing a summer gore-tex storm jacket with other layers underneath. Layers allow flexibility in being able to take off some layers when it's warmer. Some people prefer insulated winter jackets but still go with gore-tex, and still layer under the jacket as needed.
For base layers, synthetic cross country ski clothes are great to wear under the jacket and snowpants on cold days. Good snowpants should be fine without a layer underneath down to teens or 20s fahrenheit, but when it's down in the teens or colder you'll want that extra layer. On upper body it really depends how heavy your jacket is and how cold you get.
Gloves: Burton Gore-Tex mittens, by far the best. Specifically, this one:

Goggles: Get good goggles from a reputable brand. Don't get cheap garbage. Cheap goggles will fog and ruin your experience. expect to pay 50-100 dollars for a pair of goggles (unless you want the really nice stuff, then 200). You want a dual spherical lens. If it's not dual lens it's not worth owning. Good goggles are a big deal.
Socks: Darn Tough Thermolite.
Forgive the reddit spacing, I'm not a reddit faggot, just trying to make it easier to read since it's a series of different gear piece suggestions.
