straw stetson hat.
water resistant. keeps sun and rain off you. can handle light snow and moderate winds. rigid enough to be a bucket for all your pocket items at night. eyelets for breathability.

I cannot understand the big floppy straw hats all the out guys wear. I mean if youre gonna wear a straw sun hat why would yo get anything other than a cowboy hat?

fishing boonie is 2nd best out hat. had a gf that hated my fishing cap so much she threw it away while I was at work.
to be fair to her it made me look like an idiot and I wore it everywhere.

Warm, comfy, mostly waterproof, OK when its sunny.
Unfortunately the only online pics I can find are of middle class bellends larping as countrymen, or celebs wearing them as fashion items..

I got mine at goodwill for 3 dollars. It's an old USMC pith helmet. It's kept my head cool and the sun out of my eyes for years in the everglades.

My real tree hate is based af, adjustable strap, drys fast, retains its shape.
In the winter i wear the toque over it but not while its snowing so it doesnt get wet.
