What kind of car do you drive, /out/?

I just sold my '97 4x4 Toyota T100 and I'm in the market for a used Subaru Impreza Wagon or maybe an /out/back, but they're sort of expensive and there aren't a lot of good ones out there.

Upgraded to a 78, turns out they're shit. Wouldn't load maps, way too many keypresses to do basic shit, font/screen is difficult to read... some things were faster (drawing the map), other things were a lot slower (finding POI's on the map), and there's a lot of features they took out of it from the 60/76 line.

Bought a 76Cx instead. Better all-around for what I use it for. Better mount too.

Sold it for $122 on ebay (lol) and picked up the 76Cx for $150. (lol)

You rarely need four-wheel-drive, as most dirt roads are pretty smooth and a reasonable grade, but it is a good idea to limit your speed to about 25 MPH. Pic related, I was going a little too fast around a curve, slid sideways into a rock, blew out my sidewall, so drove back to pavement around 10-15 MPH on the shitty spare that came with the Prius, 40 miles of dirt road. I now carry a full-size spare, drive conservatively on dirt roads, slow and scenic. The good news about this is that Les Schwabb tires replaced the tire for free, part of their "road hazard" warranty, which includes dirt roads in Idaho.

Same here, OP. I drove an '88 Chevy Celebrity Wagon for a while, but it's really on it's last leg. I love wagons so naturally I've been looking at Subies, but everyone I find has like, 174k on it...

I plan on making an Adventure bike sometime soon, gonna get a Triumph Tiger 800XC, and do Independant Suspension, and mod it to be the ultimate survivor bike.

Priusfag reporting again with another pic. This campsite is 40+ miles of dirt to the nearest pavement, but it's a really nice place with a lake, a hot spring, places to ride a mountain bike, etc.

Define shitty, I get 16mpg, which I consider manageable.
Dont expect very good mileage from any of the 80's/90's minitrucks, unless you can find a diesel, and even then they aren't too great.

It's slow, but I sacrificed the turbo for the Yellow color. Other than that it's durable, fun, runs forever, My only complaint other than that is the wind noise.

They are indeed awesome, got mine from my grandpa when he died, only has like 110k miles on it and the inside is as close to new as you can get in a truck that's 15 years old.
