I picked up a very good condition Austrian Army M65 with GoreTex for around £35. Took off the patch and the velcro and it's a winner for me.

It's olive too, in case you're not into the whole camo thing. If not, plenty of British Army jackets lying around with Goretex too.

I have an M-65 actually, an alpha industries one. Its great quality and I wear it daily, but honestly the hood is wack and makes me look an autistic wizards apprentice. I need something with a bit better hood honestly. Although yeah good suggestion, M-65s are based.

If anything I'd like the hood to be a tad bigger. See pic. It wears more like a parka, too. Good thigh coverage. If you go for it size down. I got the smaller of the two I thought would fit, and it's still quite roomy (good for underlayers)

honestly just get a wax jacket, doesn't have to be a barbour one either cheap ones are good enough. ive had mine for 11 years and other than re waxing once a year its got me through terrible weather
