>>1694801Been using Kelty Salida 2 for last nine years, both on solo and two person trips. Tough and pretty lightweight at 4 lbs, 4 oz, with fly. Highly recommend.
Also picked up some new gear following new job and approaching move to Colorado, to give some lighter weight options, including:
-Naturehike Vik 1 for solo trips (2 lbs, 5 oz) - $130
-Paria mesh tent, 2 person (1 lb, 8 oz) - $65
-Paria mesh bivy (13 oz) - $60
-Paria Sanctuary siltarp, tapered 10'x'7/5' (14 oz) - $75
Those, combined with existing 2 person Salida and 10x2 Siltarp 2, and I have a ton of options, based on how light I want to go, how much weather protection I need, temperature, and if solo hiking or hiking with friend/partner. I can't imagine paying $900 for some tent, tarp, etc.. when there are so many very nice, but also cheap options.
