>>1704657>>1704661Rawhide is good for such work. soak it in water for a day, wrap the revolver in plastic and press the rawhide around it like you would with kydex. Once it's dry, treat it with wax or boiled linseed oil so it won't lose it's shape when exposed to water.
The belt loops can be sewn on while it's wet, or you can drill holes in it once it's dry and fix a clip or loop with screws or rivets like you would on kydex.
Alternatively, you can also take leather and soak it in a wax with a high melting point (such as beeswax). This handles like a more flexible kydex, being moldable when hot and solid when cold. However, you need thick leather (3-4mm) for it to really hold it's shape. My first IWB holster was made from 1mm leather, and it loses it's shape just from the belt's tension.
