For the outdoors, I prefer a zippo. Sure the fuel will leak over time, but you can carry extra and they are more resistant to cold and altitude than butane lighters. If you want a butane lighter, I'd go with a clipper because of the removable flint that can be used independantly of the lighter or a jet, which I assume would be the most effecient at starting a fire.
Always have a backup firesteel, though, all lighters are still devices that can break or get wet.
