Dpending on what I'm doing I'm either carrying a very small SAK (the childrens model. A tad smaller than the standard size and the only one that comes with only Knife, Saw and Screwdriver/bottle opener), a large SAK (Lockable knife, bigger saw, phillips head screwdriver, that drill thingy), a leatherman (Almost only carry it for skiing, where it actually could come in handy, much too heavy for most uses), a CRKT M16 (The smallest one. The double locking and the guard are nice, but it's haram in most countries… oh well; The big ones are just ridiculous for general use though) or a fixed knife.
But I can't really remember when I had a use for the fixed knife, so it's just collecting dust somewhere. I'd say the most used are the small SAK and the M16.

Sure, almost no one needs those bigass outdoor/survival/Rambo/tacticool knifes that are peddled for /out/ use, but not having a knife on you seems quite foolish, unless you're a fully trained caveman that can use some flint or other hard rock in a pinch.
>prepare some food>cut some bandaid>prepare some tinder for a fire>fix a busted fingernail>cut some tangled guylines for your tentAnd those are just some boring, harmless, everyday situations that don't involve first aid or survival situations.
