Overpriced gear/clothing;

Have any of you realized how overpriced outdoors gear and clothing is? My buddy recently hooked me up with an at cost plus 10% deal, and damn did it make a difference. Got some nice black diamond trekking poles half price, some north face gear ‘rain shell, shirts etc’ at over half off. This made me realize what a huge rip off it’s been paying regular retail all these years, pretty much everything is marked up 50%. Is this the same standard in every industry?
