>>1710344I assume you're talking about thing first layers but you're an idiot if you are falling for the marketing hype of "thermal underwear" like in your pic. That paper-thin stuff won't do a thing to make you actually any warmer. The only way to actually get warmer is to actually wear something with loft, or to trap air entirely (like wearing a suit made of tin foil, this is not done obviously because of sweating issues) which brings me to my next issue
>muh sweat wickingGuess what, humans have an inbuilt sweat wicking system that covers the majority of their body, especially the sweatiest areas, it's called hair
The only actual, logical reason to wear undergarments is to save yourself from that icky "I'm wearing plastic" feeling in which case merino wool or linen make great fabrics. You're a fool if you think they're going to actually warm your body or do anything for your sweat that your natural body hair won't. Also sun protection of course. Lightly-dyed or undyed linen is GOAT for this. This is why it's popular in Arab countries
>>1710352I'm wearing a Sarma 100% merino wool shirt atm. Can second it. Linen for the summer though.
