What does /out/ think about Romania as an out location? Anyone went there camping/hiking?

Did a hike in the Fagaras a couple years ago. Pretty warm in the lowlands, but snowfall possible in summer. Wonderful place though, would love to go back. World class trail markings in many places, many manned and unmanned huts due to domestic tourism being popular as a result of travel restrictions during Soviet times. Would recommend.

Went there for training (military) and the mountains are beautiful. Can't recommend any specific spots, but the one piece of advice I can give you: avoid gypsies. Avoid anyone really. I saw some weird fucking shit. Just trust me.

It's a very cool country, I think. I went hiking in the Bucovine a couple time. The landscapes are beautiful, the locals are nice and there aren't to many people. Don't go there.
