Will the Toaks 115mm frying pan attach onto the top of this model like it would the other one? I was not sure if the pail connection points would be in the way.

alright lads
not food prep related, but rather a question of water.
short story is I'll be buying a caravan, tarting it up and living in it on forestry sites.
got most of it figured out and planned, but I can't figure out what to do about water. the obvious solution is to get a bigass tank and fill it infrequently, but i'm limited on weight as I can only tow 1200kg with my vehicle. so i'll have to use a smaller tank and have to refill it a couple of times a week, but where do I get the water? filtering from a stream/river would be easy but seems like a lot of hassle and expensive, and i'd like to avoid being dependent on the guys i'm working with for something as basic as water. i'm in the UK btw, so never too far from civilisation. any ideas on what to do to get water, ideally on the cheap or free?

Regular solder would melt in a fire very easily, even silver solder marginal. You'd be much better to form one from thin stainless or even brass and hold it on with rivets, not pop rivets but brass nails peened in place like on expensive copper pans

Depends on where you are. If you’re in Scotland or somewhere similarly remote and high elevation you could get away without even filtering water from a burn, unless you think your coworkers have shat in in. I’ve been drinking Scottish and Welsh stream water for years.
If you want to filter, I’d suggest a gravity filter so you wouldn’t have to pump. Fill it and hang from a tree.
Of course boiling is better than filtration if you have the means. Neither method will work to remove chemical fertilizer of course, if you’re downstream from a farm or some such.

My housemate's still was dovetailed copper soldered together. It held up just fine. There must be a high temp lead free solder out there. This is probably not the right board though.

A still always has liquid in it keeping the temperature low. In a camping pan where you could be searing, or even have the water level too low to act as a heat sink for the lip it would probably fail. Brazing or welding is what you want.

That could work, but keep in mind you're going to need to keep a fire going for hours and you'll be stuck to it while you tend the meat, so if everyone fucks off on a hike you will be stuck at the campsite. I personally would do something like a huevos rancheros which you can whip up in under an hour. Bring a separate pan so you can fry flour tortillas in lard/vegetable oil while the eggs poach, they are key. That's always a super big hit when I make that.

this anon is saying, the problem with rabbits as a sole source of protein is the almost complete lack of fat. If you get enough fat in your diet from other sources, rabbit is delicious and very healthy.

dice, boil, drain, dress/season, etc
*BONUS: after draining them you can brown and crisp them in butter or olive oil

you can also wrap them in foil and toss them near the coals and let them bake, but it's kind of a pain to get right

Looking for a good K E T T L E for /out/ing I usually only use cast iron cookware and am trying to move away from coffee. I don't do ultra light and mainly travel via canoe so weight isn't a big issue.

Oats for breakfast and breaded fish when I can catch it. Other than that, cured bacon from a local source and dried fruit mostly on trail. Did a trip last summer with two friends and they claimed they never had so much fun between lazy days, fishing for food, and swimming. Sunflower seed oil and Rosemary with salt and pepper got good reviews during the fish fry.
