Sup /out/? I'm fleeing the tax and bullet ridden nightmare of Illinois and Chicago to and coming to Denver. I bought a Honda Fit, which I can fold the rear seats fully flat in, then sleep in comfortably. I'll be driving out there end of next month, then putting most of my stuff in storage, then living in car until I find cool roommates and place I realy want to move into. I've done similar shit before, but not in a car. Here is the overall plan:
>$30/month storage shed for most things I bring with me
>Reflectix windows covers, black on one side, for winter car sleeping, and foil out outside for summer cooling. Reflectix also on roof, dashboard, floors, etc. via magnets, if very cold.
>Small butane stove with large canisters for tailgate cooking, as well as power inverter w/ rice cooker and electric kettle for coffee, quinoa, red lentils, etc., and charging electronics
>Cooler for fruits veggies. Nuts outside of cooler
>Solar panel and large power bank also for cell, headlamp batteries, lantern batteries, etc.
>$10/month Planet Fatness gym for shower
>Water cubes, filled in grocery, etc. (also have a water key I could attach outside for 7-11, etc. spouts)
>Sleeping floor: Reflectix layer -> carboard layer -> wool blankets layer -> sleeping bag & pillow.
>Public WiFi
>Park car for sleeping in Walmarts, hospital parking lots, etc.
>About 5 changes of clothes, lots of wool, cotton poly, etc. stuff that doesn't need often washing
>No raised floor plans as of now, as seems un-needed, but maybe, if gets too cramped w/ little I'll be storing in car
What am I missing, fellow hobos? Any tips you learned from doing the same or being mostly homeless?
