I lived homeless for a while; here's my 2¢.
Stuffing DRY leaves inside a big trash bag or a grain sack creates a good mattress to insulate you from the cold.
The shower curtain is an interesting idea, but test it in your living room first.
If you're inexperienced lighting fires, buy some fire starters.
If you can scrounge these things for free, try to get:
-A shitload of twine
-A couple big trash bags
-Drinking cup and cutlery
-As many honey, pickled onion, and tabasco sachets as you can steal from Circle K on the pretext of getting a coffee
>Gonna forage for food
This is very hard to do in springtime when no fruit is in season. You'll be able to supplement your meals but you won't be able to scrounge all your calories from the bush. I've tried living by foraging in southern England, which probably has the most edible plants per square meter of anywhere on earth, but I soon found there's only so much nettle soup and goosegrass a guy can eat. Around my home in the States in April, I wouldn't even last a day foraging.
It's realistic to poach the occasional chub or trout out of a forest brook, but with a hook and bait, not a goddamn spear. And 2 small trout/day (optimistic) = about 80 calories; that leaves 1,920 to be accounted for.
