Your chances of getting robbed are as bad as in France or Italy, meaning, very fucking low. Just be wary of pickpockets in tourist areas, and you'll be fine.
Your only actual risks are in:
- Bosnia, still covered with land mines, so you need to stay on paved roads in the countryside, and stay the fuck away from any area that looks abandoned.
- Serbia, though it's much, much safer than Bosnia on this aspect, be wary for markings indicating UXOs (unexploded weaponry) and you'll be fine.
- Kosovo, things are quite tense there, but they have no gripe against tourists. In case of a problem, NATO peace keepers and EULEX police are there to intervene. So let's say there are risks, but they'll be dealt with. Also, very few mines, suspicious areas are signaled, also get a good map showing them too.
Oh, and stolen manhole covers. This is your greatest risk actually: falling into a hole.
