This, once I tried to eat grasshoppers.
I was like 4 hours trying to catch enough, then yo have to "clean" them, you just let em in a pet bottle for a day. Then you have to "cure" them, so you just let then in salt water like for 3 hours. Then you proceed to fry them.
All this work, for 2 days to just get a handful of food. Not worth it.

There was a fire in a big grazing field by me.
A guy a few places down from me was walking the burnt field picking up burnt grasshoppers & eating them like candy.

Toss 'em into a container of damp grass for a few hours to clear the grit out of their stomachs, give 'em a quick rinse, pan fry 'em in a little butter, lard or any other animal fat.

I remember reading a native american recipe that required you to fully get rid of the worms stomach contents by putting it in saltwater for a few hours, then putting it on a paper towel, rinse and repeat over the course of a week. All for some measly teaspoon of food when you could just boil spaghetti. Not to mention their rubbery and stretchy feel. Fucking disgusting.
