Winter camping general
I need to get the fuck away from my family; gonna go spend as long as I can bear in the woods. I've never winter camped before, but I've frozen my nuts off so I know all the common mistakes.
I'm not gonna bother bringing a tent, just gonna build a shelter, probably the 'scoutmaster' style.
The nearest viable option to do this happens to be at 10,500 feet elevation. Luckily it's not supposed to drop too far below freezing up there, and my sleeping bag is good up to 15F/-10C.
I've packed only clothes including my wool Moroccan jellaba, firestarters, a hatchet, a big kielbasa, and a liter of whisky. Hopefully I'll get some trout. If I can't make it at least 48 hours I'm gonna kill myself with my .22LR, or at least try.
