As a kid/teenager I used to fish literally every day. Lived in a rural neighborhood surrounded by several stocked ponds, literally less than a half-mile away each. That was a long time ago, over 15 years. Redpill me on what has changed gear wise, because I haven't even touched or watched anything fishing related since. Any new cool stuff? Looking to buy some new stuff, affordable, but not junk. This will be a general freshwater setup, but my area has some pretty big largemouth and catfish. My goal is to have the smallest rod possible, but able to handle decent sized fish.
