>>1723906Yo. I live in SE Asia so plenty of good scoobing around here.
I had a sick trip planned in November, but I got super sick so had to cancel, and by the time I was back on my feet it was too cold. Now with Wuhan I probably won't be able to go until late summer at least.
I have a pretty full setup - BCD, regs, computer, mask, lights, random accessories (knife, blinker, etc.), case for one of my cameras. I still rent tanks, fins, and a suit (all the really bulky shit). Once I move back to the US, I might buy the rest of that stuff so I can drive to random lakes and dive them. Never actually tried lake diving; hope it's fun.
Last trip I did was to Okinawa. It was super sick. It was by far the sketchiest diving I've ever done - definitely pushing the bounds of my comfort zone. If I had kids or other people who depended on me I wouldn't have done it. Extremely cool though. Lots of awesome (tight) caves and weird animals. The group I was doing it with all had our advanced, but none of us had done caves before.
>>1723907I definitely recommend getting your own computer. I have a lot more peace of mind knowing I took good care of mine and that I understand how to work it. Weights and dry suit I don't think are so important. Weights can't fail, and if the suit fails you won't die, so I don't mind renting those. 1st stage I definitely like having my own.
What kind of BCD do you have that needs separate air bottles? Never seen one of those.
