Americans actually aren't allowed in any of Scott Base unless they are invited (just because its so damn small, food is great though), with the exception of America Night, which is every Thursday during the summer, where they have the bar and store open. I don't really think there's more women there, maybe a higher ratio, but they only have like 100ish people anyway. Some of their tasks are done by McMurdo (I think?) so they can have people there who are there for grunt work leading to more women.
Didn't actually get to go, but I think America night in mainly popular because you get to socialize with people you might not have met yet (and can keep things a little more discrete, if you know what I mean, since you're on different bases. I'm told there's always dancing, and they do fun themes too often. You need to find the fun where you can down there. RIP McMurdo bowling alley...
The turnover is probably similar though percentage wise, but again McMurdo is 10+ times bigger so in terms of raw bodies, McM gets more new folks.
