Seriously though, germany sucks a bit in that regard. legally, you're not allowed to camp in the woods at all unless you are a beekeeper, hunter, woodworker or own woodland. However, camping is only considered camping if you're pitching a tent, so tarps and the like are fine. However, for making fire, you again need to be part of one of the groups listed above (and beekeepers are not permitted to in some states).
So if you want to camp with a tent and campfire, you'll want to go to the mountains or beaches, or to public campgrounds. but campgrounds are overrun with boomers and partygoers even more than in other countries.
So my rec' would be to get a camoed tarp and camp in the woods. South germany and the "mountains" (Pfälzer Wald, Schwarzwald, Harz, Taunus, Eifel) are best.
