I live in Washington and I went to Montana one time. Don't bother with Idaho, it's just full of racist hicks. The side of Montana that is just forests and small towns is fucking amazing, though. I don't even know how much it costs to camp there because I was pretty young and it was just a road trip. Definitely go to Glacier National Park and then just drive around and find cool shit afterwards.

Because down here, I cannot go outside for more than 30 minutes without suffering from heat exhaustion.

Uh, in Washington it rains probably ~200 days a year and a hot day is maybe about 70 degrees. Not sure about Idaho or Montana, but there was a huge thunderstorm one of the days I was in Montana (middle of the summer) so it probably rains quite a bit. I'd assume it's a little less considering I live right on the coast, though. This website says it's like 100-150 days a year there.
