It's a shame a few years back I was out doing field work in the western states, came across some amazing elk skulls with giant racks and other stuff, but was often so far off the beaten trail it was impractical to bring them along.
One in particular I really wanted to keep, strapped it to my backpack and all, but I was in such dense scrub and bullshit and it kept catching on fucking everything I had to jettison it.
Also came across an entire cowhide from a rotting pile of bones, it had dried out into rawhide and I was sore tempted to toss it in the truck, maybe make a nice djembe or something lol, but I again I had work to do and it stank like hell, and I didn't want that stink getting on everything else I had in the truck so I left it.
