It's like fire bans or when ski hills close the backcountry. Important to limit the ability for normalfags to ruin shit for everyone, but if you know what you're doing you're no risk. They want to prevent the tards congregating at the popular spots or fat preppers trying to bug out and getting lost and needing search and rescue, not johnny /out/ist setting up a tent overnight in the middle of nowhere. If you get hassled it's just proof you weren't in the middle of nowhere enough.
