>>1740355Ask me how I know you've never been threatened by a methed-up woods-dweller with a broken bottle because you stumbled upon his wack shack 10 miles outside of town.
>>1741592Guns are now a thing though. Stupid ass argument.
>>1742405Is it really that big of a deal for you to strap a small pistol on your hip for a few days? I carry my 92fs + 2 mags all the time in the hills, and it's hardly a hindrance. Yes, I notice it because it's a biger pistol, but a small revolver or a .22 won't be an issue if you're concerned.
>>1742541Saw a mountain kitty, and he saw me, while spending a few days in my favorite spot in Wyoming a few years back. An old family friend, real cowboy type guy, got snowed into a camp spot on the hills in the 70s. He couldn't get out for a week or two due to his horse trailer being a solid steel home-brew, and only brought enough food for the weekend as he was just taking a new horse out for some riding. His bolt action got him some food while he was snowed in.
Generalization will generally not work in most cases, as people have lived and experienced different things than you. I don't doubt that you're incorrect, I just have 1st and 2nd hand experience that having some sort of firearm is a benefit for being innawoods. If you live in an area with no large predators, an area that's easy to access with most commercial 4wd vehicles, and is not prone to sudden weather changes, I 100% agree with you. However, a .22 weighs almost nothing, you can carry a bunch of ammo if you wish, and will negate most threats you're likely to encounter. There is no downside to going innawoods protected.
