We haven't had a geocaching general in a really long time, maybe time to start them again!
Post your profile, write about your recent or most interesting finds, share places you have found while doing it, etc.
>What is Geocaching?
Outdoor activity of finding hidden containers (geocaches) using GPS navigation and their description. Containers range from small ones in urban environments to big boxes in open nature. Each one of them contains a logbook with previous finders.
>Why should I do it?
It's a fun outdoor activity that can show you interesting places and landscapes you didn't even know about, or monuments and hidden gems of your city. If you enjoy treasure hunting, it's an ideal activity.
>How difficult is it?
Each geocache has an assigned difficulty and terrain rating. It can be hard in the beginning, but you quickly develop senses where a cache could be located. In the end, there's no better feeling than finally finding a geocache after struggling.
>How do I get started?
Make an account on https://www.geocaching.com/. On your mobile phone you can use it through browser or download either their official app or one of very popular unofficial ones such as c:geo, Cachly or Geocaches.
Did you know there's even a geocache in the International Space Station?
