Unless it's way below freezing (-20C and under), the most I'll wear are fingerless leather gloves.
>Are waterproof gloves a thing?Yes. Any properly made leather glove can be made waterproof with wax or fat, and there are also gloves with waterproof membranes like goretex.
But as with all waterproof gear, the waterproofing inhibits or completely stops water vapor from escaping. So if you start sweating, the sweat will take far longer to dry of than with regular gloves.
