Every square of forest in the Pacific Northwest has been explored, surveyed and/or logged out.
Any remaining old growth forest is regularly studied by researchers.
In other words, there is no secret place for bigfoot to be hiding.

No. Hardly anything gets fossilized. It is entirely possible that the majority of species from the early to mid holocene will never be known to us unless they made it to today.

I went hiking with my friend and his Asperger’s kid who was obsessed with Bigfoot at the time. He was really excited when I told him there had been a lot of sightings in the area (true) and we had a really interesting discussion about cryptozoology in general and Squatch in particular. At one point he thought he’d found tracks and we closely examined them.
I read somewhere that there’s a correlation between rural white unemployment and Bigfoot sightings. The paper mill shuts down and the encounters rise.
