the double layer is too much for NA 99% of bites, but so is the single layer and a thin t-shirt, which is all you can handle in the humid heat.
A 20-thirty degree bag used as a quilt is more comfortable in temperate temps than a 40-50 degree bags which are too thin to be useful and often too hot to tolerate when the bug net is closed to actually stop mossys, and not just block wind.
Get the rigging set up for a shortest comfortable hang and consider kamok/atlas straps, you better have the carabiners too.
