Mine is this eureka pack that I got for a junior high camping trip around 2002-2003. I still use it to this day even though I'm not a fan of it's layout.

I also have two random packs that are over 10 years old with no major damage. A mountain hardware iguana in pic related, and a mountain smith shoulder bag. Got them at a discount when I was working in a national park, Both were used heavy for a long time, definitely worth the money.

My oldest piece of gear I have is an Ontario jungle machete that my dad came back from Vietnam with, after that would be my 80's era Jansport external frame pack that first used as a boy scout, followed by a spring steel gladius that was made for me right before Desert Storm happened. All still serviceable.

got this Dana Design Terraplane pack in 2001.

company was bought&sold. Mystery Ranch was created by the same person.

rugged, comfy and HUGE! haven't used it as much as I would have liked, but has spent a solid 8 months out since then, but IMO the Cadillac of packs.

First time I was proper out on my own was with my m8 and he brought an old school cotton canvas tent from fuck knows when, 70s-80s I guess. After that I bought a Hilleberg. I updated my sleeping bag from boy scouting days to lightweight down feather. Trangia kitchen to gas stove. There's some charm to old gear, but not when you want to cut down weight and want effective fast drying gear.

I've have a Mammut backpack that is still my go to travel bag since 2002. From Hawaii to Kyrgyzstan and the Arctic to Patagonia. Only replaced two fastex buckles. Love that bag.
