I plan on hiking up mountain rivers up to their springs / alpine lakes and then descend on another valley, looking for trout and camping overnight.

Whats a good wader/wading boot combo thats comfortable for hiking as well as fishing ?

Could i wear the wading boots without waders when i'm out of the water or they'll be too loose?

Never used waders so far, just hip high boots and they suck at everything.
I also have Lowa GTX boots for hiking which are excellent , but would be destroyed sitting in water.

Is there some other magical alternative ? like waterproof socks + sandals or smth ?
