How the fuck do I get it to work?
The loop on my truckers hitch always gets super tight when I try to straighten my guideline and my prusics always slide. Do I get a new rope?

Put a stick in the loop. Yes, your rope looks pretty slippery, but that should do the job.

What knot are you using for the loop in the truckers? If it's a slip knot you're probably tying it the wrong way round. Alternatively use an alpine butterfly instead.

try some different cord. some ropes are super slipy and not suitable for friction knots like that. What are you using the prusic for? I think they are not needed in most set ups.

Will try it out. The problem has solved itself for now. I don't need to finish the knot, the loop holds the line by itself because it is real tight.

Nice. imo setting up two ridge lines and having prusic on the gromets is a bit over complicated. Why not just have guys for each gromet and truckers hitch them tight. That's how I set up my tarps.

Use a butterfly knot, there are really easy ways to tie it. Very easy to untie. Pussik rope should be about 1/2 the diameter of main line.

Nylon is inherently stretchy. Polypro won't hold a knot. Use polyester.

Plastic rope is fine. Tips:
-If new line, run a tight handful of dirt over it. Dirty line works better.
-Thinner (or the same) on thicker, not the other way around like you're doing.
-Three wraps not two.
-Dress and tighten.
