Any cool places to explore solo in Vanc Island? Preferably spots not many people know about? I'm inexperienced and grew up sheltered but I reckon some time innawoods would be good for me.

New to the region so idk for sure, but I did a bunch of research on this. Apparently there is some rare Gerry oak savannah in the southern portion of the province that is pretty spectacular.
Botanical beach is also cool from what I have heard. Lot of neat tidal pools that have a lot of interesting flora and fauna

yeah there's a patch around beacon hill park in victoria feels like california because it's technically mediterranean climate

Cape Scott Trail on the northern tip has been in my list for a few years now. It like the west coast trail but with none of the traffic.

Cape Scott is pretty busy when it's not knee deep mud. I like meeting people on the trail & in the bush so it's a plus for me

Went up to Victoria mid January during the snow, Vancouver Island is absolutely fucking beautiful even within the city. I can't wait to go back for the trails in the fall
