Hello, /out/ists. I've managed to save up a few grand and have decided to spend a year or three wandering the US. Dad was a full on live at camp all year kind of mountain man and passed his skills and lifestyle on. I've got most of the gear I need to make camp and sustain myself long-term but holy shit am I having trouble deciding on a pack. Any things you feel are mandatory in a pack? Things you love or hate? Not asking to be spoonfed, I want your honest opinions on what you love and why. Also why is savotta so comfy?
