Canoeing is one of the best things you can do in life. So, how about building one?

I'm in the market for a good canoe, relatively light, prospector style kevlar.

Recently I had the idea to DIY a canoe for various reasons - cost being a large one. I almost posted this in DIY, but at last second came here to the outdoors.

I'm hoping to start a thread on the topic of canoe building, working with kevlar, and finding help from those with experience.
