I want to go full camping where i just bring food and an axe alone without anything to entertain me i feel like ive become to dependent on tech to entertain me.
i have experience i know how to start a fire with just nature and have made shelters fine.
has anyone done this for mental health like going away for 4 days doing nothing but "surviving" and cleaning your head

i dont the usual camping people go with tents and gas and shit like that with family or friends this isent anything special just wanted to know if this helped people in there reular life after to do like a cleaning or whatever because ive been going thru a semi tough time mentally of workng everyday from waking up to ssleeping with no days off

what's wrong with bringing a tent and a cookset? you should be walking in at least a few miles from the parking lot anyways, if you're going to a developed campsite it's not really camping

I traveled a year through Africa and had no electronics with me. Only at times when I had to get to larger cities to get visa or when I temporarily worked at national parks to recover and restock, I occasionally heard a radio playing or other "modern" sounds. It's really not much of a problem as long as you have a goal that you want to reach which will keep you on the move during the first weeks when you'd miss the normal life the most. I can imagine it feeling much weirder if you just hike out into the woods one day and then just stay there for a week or two without anything "to do".

Why not bring an e-reader. Lighter than a book and can last for weeks. You could get a lot of reading done in that time

hike for several miles, set up your tent and camp at a good spot, cook up dinner, read, explore, fish, meditate, build a fire, etc
