I agree with the others. This would be a fine plan except for the neighbors. Check your county laws by all means but in most places you aren't allowed to camp on your own land indefinitely. That doesn't matter so much if you have 10 acres and no one ever sees your camp site, but if your neighbors can see it someone will eventually make a complaint because suburb cucks are a just like that.

Check out this property with an actual real estate agent. You don't have to use them to purchase it (although I'd recommend it, since the commission is paid by the seller anyway), but there are a lot of scams out there, and to me, $2500 seems a little low for a plot of land, even that small, in California. The Zillow feed is supposedly updated from the MLS, but for a brand new address, I really wonder how easy it is for there to be fraud.

Also, presumably that is intended for the construction of a cabin. I've seen a lot of these quarter acre plots, and they really aren't intended for personal wild camping. The other people on the road will be developing theirs, slowly perhaps, by building houses, installing septic systems, running electric and so forth.

its both plots 40 acres each 2 lakes about 2 miles down the road , no utility hookups. i was thinking a good place to go hunting and build a cabin plus i have some atvs to ride around

Proximity to water sounds neat. 80 acres is a lot of space. Take a drive out there and check it out. If its zoned recreational you may not be able to build on it legally, also property taxes will probably trend higher. Maybe you can get away with a "seasonal residence". County Planning and Zoning Department will have the info.

Any anons from Wyoming? I fantasy of mine is to make enough money that I can retire at a young age and buy 40-100 acres of land in remote Wyoming. Then just build a small cabin, grow crops, and raise sheep/goats until I die blissfully alone.
I look at postings on Zillow but I’ve only driven through Wyoming very briefly so idk if it’s a good location

Not so much as snowy as it is cold af. Though since it's so cold pretty much all precipitation in winter ends up as snow even in the sagebrush deserts where there isn't much precipitation. Some places are still under 5-10ft of snow as of last week.
