>>1753070If bark bark but stay around house or open yard. Nuttin, talk to them "shut up! Yahhhh! Shhhaaaa!" Or just talking nicely if I'm passing through regular(I use mtb for travel over dirt r9ads, desert trails, I walk over same paths to get a break from bicling) try to get dog to recognize my scent and voice.
The dogs are not thinking very much, they just love having a big hootenanny and every other dog wants to come out and join the ruckus.
If they leave their yard and want to trail close behind barking I stop and look for a good throwing stone and let it fly as hard as I can with intent to kill.
Many dogs remember pain, and as soon as I dip down to grab a rock and stand up with my arm stretched back to throw they have already turned tail and are running back to their yard.( They have probly had someone better than me hit them with a good thump at some point).
Just the motions of acting like I picked up something is enough for some dogs to scatter.
Always have a pocket witj good rocks that hit hard if you know where the dogs are on your trail.
Also practice throwing rocks, practice is fun and could save your life
A buddy of mine took me hunting years ago for quail and desert gotten tails, just using rock throwing. About 1/20 throws he got something. Mostly if the throw doesn't kill outright, it is enough to stun enough to run up to it and kill it.
