which of these would be better to take backpacking to smooth/level a tent-sized patch of snow?

pros:
i can use it standing up
it's much lighter and easier to pack
cons:
each scoop won't move much snow
>folding shovel
pros:
each scoop moves a lot more snow
cons:
i'd have to kneel to use it
it's much heavier and harder to pack

i will not need the ice axe while walking. 12" ruler included in pic for scale.
