>>1763101>how did you stash your carThe area was remote enough that I never had any problems, but the first two years I did bike up there for that concern, it's only an 80 mile ride from where I live.
>Did you make multiple supply trips at the beginning? No, I pack light on gear and go through a 2L bottle of rice in about 2-3 weeks, so four bottles will last 3 months if I portion it properly, longer if I supplement with foragables. I've tried replacing some of the rice with wild grains, but I've found it's easier to just leave an extra bottle in my car in case I run out, which only costs me a day's hike to pick up and bring back.
>Can you post your kit?I'll snap a photo and post from my phone in a bit, but it basically consists of:
telescoping fishing pole, fuckton of no10 hooks and powerbait (I tie stone weights to save on packweight)
Cocoon hammock and GI poncho
Single change of t-shirt, board shorts, DT socks
Stanley Adventure kit pot & lid, alcohol stove for backup and ~12oz bubble bottle of denatured alcohol fuel
Clean and dirty bladders and a Sawyer mini rigged as a gravity filter
Carbonsteel mora, backup lighter, basic FAK and a 7W solar panel and small bank
I carry my phone, a Kershaw and a lighter on me as well as a few other weight negligible things like fishing license, ID, etc. I think that's it, I haven't repacked in a while.
